When this program is installed it will be configured to start automatically when Windows starts, and once started, will perform a scan of your computer and state that it has found numerous infections. It will not, though, tell you the files that are supposedly infected and will also state that you cannot remove anything until you first purchase the program. This is a complete scam, as the program is scripted to display infections every time it is run. That means if you reinstalled Windows and ran Antivir Solution Pro it would still say that you are infected. It does this to scare you into thinking that your computer has a security problem so that you will then purchase the program. When you purchase the program, though, all you do is waste your money as the program has no useful function for your computer. [...]

    AV Security Suite is a scareware and ransomware program from the same family as Antivirus Soft and AntiSpyware Soft. The developers of this program are distributing AV Security Suite through the use of hacked sites, spam, and Trojans that install it onto your computer without your permission. Once installed AV Security Suite will be configured to start automatically when your computer starts. Once started it will scan your computer and state that there are numerous infections, but will not let you remove any of them until you purchase the program.     AVDefender 2011 is a rogue anti-virus program that is installed through other malware that is installed on your computer. When AVDefender 2011 is installed it will be configured to start by replacing Window's normal explorer.exe shell with the main infection executable. This allows the program to automatically start, even before the Windows Desktop shows, when you start Windows. Once started it will scan your computer and state that there are numerous infections found. It will state, though, that it cannot remove any of these infections until you purchase the program. The scan results for AVDefender, though, are completely false. In fact the scan results list legitimate Microsoft Windows programs, such as CMD.exe, as infections that if removed could cause your computer to not operate correctly. Therefore, do not manually delete any of the files it states are infections. [...]

This alert will masquerade as a Microsoft Security Essentials alert and state that your computer has a Trojan. It will then pretend to clean it, and fail, and then prompt you to install one of 5 rogue programs, including Peak Protection 2010, in order to clean the infection. When the Peak Protection 2010 is installed it will reboot your computer and start up before your Windows Desktop loads. It will then scan your computer and state that there are numerous infected files found, but will state that it will not be able to clean some of them as it requires the heuristics module in order fix them. In order to activate this heuristic module you will need to first purchase the program. This is a scam, though, as none of the files it states are viruses are actually infected. [...]
